Independence Day

We all seem so happy and joyful,
its just another day,
there is something special about today you say,
it is no ordinary day.

Your head seems so high,
you are proud and you get the high,
the patriot in you is awake again,
you say its our independence day.

I see no reason to rejoice,
I feel no need to celebrate,
because when you really look around,
we are all fooled by this stupid gown.

You think you are free,
but are you really,
you think you can see,
but you can't even barely,
we were set free from outsiders,
to be ruled by our own slaves, the servants,
our own greed and desires,
and still we have the courage to say,
happy independence day.
